As it turns out (that phrase intended to reference part of The Salmon of Doubt by Douglas Adams), some people (i.e. Carter) have told me that the quote I selected here (to demonstrate my thoughts on Ant Farm by Simon Rich) is not that funny.
As a second try, I am including a link to Simon Rich’s mySpace page where he has published two outtakes from Ant Farm. I think that “I still remember the day I got my first calculator” is hysterical.
Since I was curious about what others thought and wanting to try the new Facebook poll, I posted a question yesterday. Seems only 3% agree that Ant Farm is the funniest book ever, but 20% responded that it is “quite possibly” the funniest book ever.
It is still a minority so I continue my search.

I read the book with great hope. I wanted it to be the funniest book ever. Unfortunately, I think you did the book in. It never had a chance.
The problem is that my expectations were just far too high. Had I simply picked up the book and read it I likely would have considered it to be a funny book. But I went in thinking it was going to be the “funniest book ever!” As a result, the book was a let down. I ended up analyzing every page, every paragraph, every sentence and every word and asking myself, “is that the funniest word, sentence, paragraph that may be written right there?” I’d ask myself, WWDLS? (What Would David Letterman (or Dennis Leary) Say?)
The weight of expectations was too much for this little book.
